With a name as interesting as Megalomaniac Winery, you can expect a range of unique wines as well.
Everything about the winery from, its location atop a hillside on the Niagara Escarpment, in Twenty Valley, to its quirky wine names makes it a must visit place. Where else can you enjoy a glass of Coldhearted Riesling Icewine?
Established by John Howard, the winery initially operated out of an underground cellar and later, graduated to a new building above the cellar in 2014. Spread across 110 acres, the vineyard and winery embraces all things Canadian.
This includes:
- The Wine Collection
- The interiors – made with material from the escarpment
- The Cabinets crafted with Canadian wood
The winery with its cellar, tasting room and an upper balcony is surrounded by stunning views. It is a breathtaking landscape that includes expansive views of:
- The Vineyards
- Lake Ontario
- Skyline of Niagara Falls
- Skyline of Toronto
Glass walls featured in the tasting room and retail area give you a chance to see the scenic vistas, as does the upper balcony.
From offering a single vintage wine at its inception, Megalomaniac Winery currently has a wide range of wines. Due to the escarpment, the terroir contains limestone shale that contributes to the distinct flavour of the wines.
The wines are as interesting as their names.
Some of the white wines include:
- Narcissist Riesling Reserve
- My Way Chardonnay
- Selfie
Reds include:
- Bigmouth Merlot
- Pompous Reserve
- Bravado Cabernet Sauvignon
Bold and full of flavours, the wines can be savoured in the tasting room that permits only adults.
Experience wonderful moments with delightful wines, a winery tour and jaw-dropping views at Megalomaniac Winery!
