It seems Niagara-on-the-Lake never runs short of things to celebrate in the summer months; its agricultural roots provide an endless bounty of worthy honourees. But the town’s two-day celebration of the peach is not to be missed, as legions of local growers descend on historic Queen Street with their fruit on Saturday, Aug. 11.
Prepare to enjoy fresh pies, preserves and the festival’s namesake fruit itself; Saturday evening brings a live Salsa band, with dancing, culinary offerings, and local wines and craft beers.
On Sunday, the festival moves to St. Vincent De Paul Church, with entertainment for the whole family and – needless to say – plenty of peaches. Sunday evening concludes the celebration with an on-street dinner in the Heritage District. Come hungry. Aug. 11 – 12.
