The Niagara SkyWheel attraction takes you on a fun ride 175 feet above the ground. Located in Clifton Hill, the SkyWheel has been operational since 2006. Open around the year, the SkyWheel has 42 climate controlled enclosed passenger cars. Each car or gondola can accommodate six to eight passengers.
You can ride on the SkyWheel in any season all through the day from morning to night. The 8 to 12 minute rides are a great way to overlook sights in Niagara Falls. Day views offer panoramic perspectives– you can see the various attractions of the city from high above. Night rides are as much fun with the city lights and the illuminated attractions looking dramatically different at night.
Niagara Skywheel sights include:
– American Falls
– Horseshoe Falls
– Niagara River
– Niagara Skyline
At night, the illuminated Falls make for a gorgeous sight. Other major attractions are located in the area–Dinosaur Adventure Golf and spot the mammoth dinosaurs standing tall in the prehistoric setting along with the simulated active volcano.
In summer, the climate-controlled gondolas offer cooling, and in winters, heating provides passengers a comfortable ride. The windows feature UV screen blocking out the glare of the sun. As a result you can enjoy the views and take photographs as well.

Gondolas are well-maintained and cleaned regularly. A daily inspection for safety purposes is also carried out. In case of a power outage, the SkyWheel won’t come to a halt due to a back-up generator. Wheelchair accessibility is available. A provision for parking strollers is also available.
See the spectacular sights of Niagara Falls with a delightful ride on the Niagara SkyWheel!

There is lots to see and do around Clifton Hill. Many of the attractions are overpriced but it was good for our family to do at least one of the attractions.
