Established in 2009, Redstone Winery in the Niagara Benchlands, has gained much recognition for its wines and food.
With its recent win at the WineAlign National Wine Awards of Canada for the Winery of the Year 2017, Redstone Winery has further reinforced its reputation for making amazing wines.
Owned by Moray Tawse, Redstone Winery is operated along organic and biodynamic principles. It was the red soil and huge stones at the 38 acre estate that led to the naming of the winery. Tawse was attracted by the unique terroir of this Lincoln Lakeshore property. He got together with winemaker Rene Van Ede, supported by Paul Pender, to produce a range of wonderful wines.
The vineyard strives to meet a balanced ecosystem required for healthy vines. Natural processes are encouraged to increase the nutrients in the soil. Moreover, synthetic fertilizers and pesticides are not used in the vineyard. Once the grapevine and the soil are in balance, the result is a healthy vine and healthy grapes. This organic and biodynamic process not only benefits the environment but also the person who finally drinks the wine.

Redstone Winery’s collection of awards is also growing with a total of 10 medals at the WineAlign Awards 2017 including the Winery of the Year. It is a major achievement when you consider the fact that more than 272 wineries participated at the awards.
