A part of it is still under construction and when complete it will also have a magnificent fountain in the centre of the property. Even in its unfinished state, the beauty of the building and the landscape is breathtaking.

Colaneri Appassimento Winemaking Process

Almost all the wines barring a few are made in Appassimento style. This means that the grapes are thinned out on the vine and later, during harvest they are hand-picked and kept in a greenhouse for drying. Air circulation inside the greenhouse dries out the water in the grapes leaving only the juice. These grapes are then processed and the Appassimento process makes the wines full-bodied, rich and flavoursome.

Choose from a range of white wines, red wines and specialty wines at the winery. You can enjoy tasting sessions and also buy bottles at the retail store. The artistic wine labels are as interesting as the wines, and each has a story behind it.

Colaneri Wine Styles

As for the wines, the white wine collection includes Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewurztraminer, Riesling and Pinot Grigio. Those who prefer red wines can taste the heady flavours of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Red Blend, Pinot Noir, Syrah, and the Ripasso Style wine. Specialty wines such as Vidal Icewine, Cabernet Franc Icewine, Riesling Icewine and others too are available.

Tasting sessions at the winery give you a chance to savour these delightful wines from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Taste five wines for $10.00 per person. And if you choose to buy wine, these fees are waived. If you prefer an Amarone style tasting or would like to do an icewine tasting, there is an additional charge of $5. This fee is also waived with the purchase of wines. During summer, you can also relish a wood-fired pizza along with a glass of wine. Private tastings are available from Monday to Friday.

Great place, awesome service and really good wines. Definitely the best Ontario wines I have tasted. They are on the pricey side but the experience is definitely worth the money. Try the 2020 Cab...
