After discovering Niagara’s winning case for corporate events, the next question meeting and conference planners often ask is whether Niagara Falls or Niagara-on-the-Lake is a better choice for their event. The answer really comes down to your audience and event goals. Niagara is fortunate to have two outstanding corporate event destinations, less than 30 minutes apart. Here are some factors to consider when deciding whether Niagara Falls or Niagara-on-the-Lake is the better fit for your event.

Event Scale

Niagara Falls is an excellent choice for high-capacity events, such as large conferences, trade shows, multi-day conventions, and events requiring extensive meeting space. The Niagara Falls Convention Centre offers 200,000 square feet of flexible convention space and proximity to over 4,000 branded guest rooms. Niagara-on-the-Lake has more boutique venues, though some still offer significant space for large-group gatherings. White Oaks Resort, for example, has 67,000 square feet of state-of-the-art meeting space, including an exhibition hall with nearly 25,000 square feet of space that can accommodate over 100 booths.

Event Atmosphere

Niagara Falls’ energy, lively gaming and entertainment scene, and iconic attractions make it a great option for events where creating excitement and keeping attendees constantly engaged are priorities. Niagara-on-the-Lake’s historic charm, sophistication, slower pace and easy access to Niagara wine country are excellent for events focused on building relationships and inspiring creativity and connection.

Accommodation Style

With an inventory of over 12,000 hotel rooms, Niagara Falls offers event planners easy access to large room blocks and a broad range of pricing tiers. While Niagara-on-the-Lake boasts over 200 accommodation options, most are smaller, higher-end properties, with capacity at many limited to between 70 and 200 rooms. Vintage Hotels’ three CAA/AAA four-diamond properties in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Pillar and Post, Queen’s Landing, and the Prince of Wales, collectively offer 372 guestrooms.

Choosing between Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake for your corporate event isn’t about which destination is better, but rather what type of experience you wish to create for your attendees. Niagara Falls Tourism and Niagara-on-the-Lake Tourism both have excellent online resources to help event planners gather all the details they need to make the best decision for their upcoming meeting, conference, or trade show.
