Beamer Memorial Conservation Area in Grimsby boasts panoramic views of the Niagara Escarpment and Lake Ontario, especially impressive at golden hour from the viewing platforms. Charles Daley Park, in Jordan, sits right on the edge of Lake Ontario, offering visitors the perfect place to skip stones as they wait for the sun to dip. 

The long stretch of sand that’s known as Sunset Beach in St. Catharines delivers on its name’s promise, providing some spectacular scenery as the sun sinks below Lake Ontario. There’s also a shaded picnic area with tables and a playground area for the kids.

In Niagara Falls, Queen Victoria Park’s proximity to the Falls provides an ideal spot for watching the colours of the cascade change as the sun sets. Stick around to watch the nightly illumination of the Falls.

In Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ryerson Park is a fan favourite for snuggling up on a park bench and watching the sunset.

In Port Colborne, H.H. Knoll Lakeview Park, at the southern end of the Welland Canals Parkway, overlooks Sugarloaf Harbour and Gravelly Bay for showstopping Lake Erie sunsets. Bernard Beach, just off The Fort Erie Friendship Trail in Ridgeway, has a west-facing view of Lake Erie. Unobstructed Lake Erie views serve up stellar sunsets at Morgan’s Point Conservation Area in Wainfleet that can be enjoyed from the boardwalk, sandy beach, or rocky outcrops.
