32nd Annual Siege of Fort Erie Battle Re-Enactment

August 12th - August 13th, 2017

The grounds of Old Fort Erie are set to once again play host to Canada’s largest annual War of 1812 battle re-enactment.

The 32nd Annual Siege of Fort Erie takes place on August 12 & 13. Join the Niagara Parks Heritage team and volunteers for the weekend long event that will feature battle re-enactments, demonstrations, historic merchants and more, all taking place on the site of Canada’s bloodiest battlefield.

The action-packed schedule begins both days at 10 a.m. when the Fort and camps are officially opened to the public, followed by a full lineup of battle re-enactments, demonstrations and performances throughout the day. Saturday’s events wrap up with an evening battle scene where hundreds of re-enactors will participate in Drummond’s dramatic Night Assault on the Fort, followed by a Lantern Tour of the Fort under attack at 9 p.m.

A memorial service honouring all of those who fell in battle will be held on Sunday, August 13, at 10:30 a.m. and the last battle re-enactment of the weekend, the American Sortie, will be held on Sunday at 1 p.m.
